Limon,Costa Rica

Located on Costa Rica’s Caribbean coast, in the south of Tortuguero national park, on the lakeside of the Madre de Di-os lagoon which communicates with the mouth of the Pacuare river. Lirio Lodge first and unique Eco Lodge in barra de Pacuare offers its guests a truly new and unique experience full of natural wonder, elegance, and warm friendly service – all within an unprecedented sensitivity to the preservation of this green paradise.
Lirio Lodge is a charming boutique lodge located in Barra de Pacuare, the most virgin sector of the Tortuguero canals, in the Caribbean of Costa Rica. It is located directly in front of the Madre de Di-os Lagoon, an extensive and unspoiled natural canal, surrounded by tropical rainforest, and separated from the sea by only a narrow peninsula of virgin and intact tropical jungles, the famous Pacuare Reserve. Without a doubt, staying at Lirio Lodge means exploring and discovering the most unspoiled area of the Caribbean rainforests of Costa Rica and the Tortuguero canals in their most authentic, unspoiled and natural state. The flora and fauna in the area is rich, wonderful and unique, presenting several species in danger of extinction, such as several rare sea turtle specials, inside which we find the Green Turtle, the Carey Turtle , the Leatherback Turtle, as well as mammals and birds as rare as the Jaguar as well as the Tapir, and the very rare Garza Agami Storch, one of the rarest birds.
Surrounded by three Sea Turtle protections organizations, an 2400 hectares Biological Reserve and a labyrinth of rivers and swamps in the cloud forest of the Tortuguero area, Lirio Lodge offer different packages with boat transport, guided excursion, contact with local people and labor of the wildlife protection organization, a simple but gourmet dining experience, and a special and unique tropical architecture. Our open-air dining pavilion and Bungalow let you watch the local wildlife and listen to the sounds only found in a tropical paradise.

People can also enjoy kayaking along the lagoon border, or go for some fishing with the locals. The 3 days package includes transport from San Jose or Guapiles, boat transfer from Goshen Dock to the lodge, a boat tour and visit to the beach, small village and a guided visit to the Sea Turtle conservation projects. The next day, a guided rainforest canal boat tour is also included, during which you can encounter exactly the same fauna and flora as you do in Tortuguero National Park. Other optional activities are also available. Please request the list of other activities by sending us an email. Birding, fishing, and guided nature walks are some of the trips you can book on the site.
